Tools for Evaluating Economic Development Impacts of Transportation
The TRB Committee on Transportation and Economic Development sponsored a workshop on methods for evaluating economic development impacts of transportation. As part of this effort, we developed a list of free or commercially available tools that users can apply on their own to address evaluate economic development impacts of highways, airports, marine ports or transit services. This list is presented as a public service,
to encourage better understanding of available resources. We welcome submission of additions and corrections to this list.
Two factors should be noted
about the tools listed below.
(1) These tools focus
on differing modes and differeing aspects of economic development impact.
(2) Many of these tools are in fact designed to complement and even work together.
